What we’ll be covering in the lecture:

·      Later Summer/Early Winter Challenges

·      Insulation and moisture control

·      Winter feeding

·      Winter maintenance tasks

What we’ll be covering in the colony:

·      How to do a year-end colony inspection. There are number of things that we are looking for to ensure that our bees make it through the winter. I will show you tried and true methods for success that ensure that bees will not just survive winter, but thrive.

·      How to do a mite wash. We’ll be measuring for mites to ensure that our treatments are working.
